Let's get them up this year
Installs stop a week before Christmas, and the dry-weather dates go first: a roof is safe to work on with dry shingles in late October, and it isn't with icy shingles in mid-December.

How your quote is worked out
Christmas light installation starts at $900 for most packages.

What Brighton does to your roofline
Bigger houses on old lake lots
The township's plan says its older lake homes were small, on narrow lots, and that many are being replaced with larger houses. The lots stay as narrow as they were, so there's little room beside the house for a ladder. We work out the ladder spots before install day.
Attached homes in the city
Only 1,721 of the City of Brighton's 4,033 homes are detached houses, and 612 are attached single-family units. If yours is one of those, your association may have a say on outdoor lights, so check its rules before you book.
Leaves into late November
The City of Brighton starts vacuuming leaves the week of October 26, 2026, and its last bagged yard waste pickup is the week of November 23. Our lights run along the gutters, so clear the leaves first, or ask us to do both on one trip.

Why it happens in Brighton
More than twenty lakes in Brighton Township
The township's 2020 master plan counts more than twenty named lakes, Woodland, Clark, Fonda and Osborn among them. A house on one of them has two sides people see: the street side and the water side.
Away from the lakes, the plan describes estate homes on many acres along gravel roads lined with trees. On lots like that, the trees by the drive and the walk to the door belong in the display, and each one adds to the job.
How we hang Christmas lights in Brighton
- Our lights, planned with you on a design walk-through.
- Peaks and gutters first, then any trees, shrubs and walkways you want lit.
- Lake-side rooflines in the township, hung along with the street side.
- Maintenance included all season, for strands knocked loose by weather or animals.
- Takedown in January or February, then storage until next season.

The detail
Christmas lights in Brighton, explained
Holiday Glow downtown
The City of Brighton's 2026 downtown event list puts the Holiday Glow & Christmas Market on Saturday, November 21, from 1 to 7 p.m. Its comprehensive plan says the City's Christmas lights draw people out on the coldest days, many of them to the community fire pit. For your house to be lit by then, get on our install calendar in October or early November.
What a Brighton season includes
It begins with a picture of your house from the street and a design walk-through. We provide the lights and hang them on the peaks and gutters, plus the trees, shrubs and walkways you pick. If weather or an animal knocks a strand loose, fixing it is included. In January or February we take it all down and store the lights for next year.
Downtown Brighton and the township
Two governments share the Brighton name, both in Livingston County. The city's downtown sits on the Millpond, with the Tridge carrying walkers over the water, and the city fits its homes into 3.5 square miles of land. Brighton Township borders it and spreads 7,314 homes over about 33 square miles. A townhouse off Main Street and a house on Fonda Lake are each quoted on their own rooflines.
Questions
Christmas lights questions from Brighton homeowners
Can Brighton Township homes get Christmas light installation too?
Yes, we work all over the township. Part of it has Milford mailing addresses, because 26 percent of Brighton Township's land is in the 48380 ZIP code that Milford also uses. We hang lights in Milford too, so either way you're covered.
What does Christmas light installation start at in Brighton?
Packages start at $900. Past that, the price follows the house: the feet of peak and gutter you want lit, how high and steep the roof is, and how many trees, shrubs and walkways go in. A lit lake side or a long drive adds to it.
Will you light the water side of a lake home in Brighton Township?
Yes. On Woodland, Clark, Woodruff and the township's other lakes, a lake home has a side facing the water, and that roofline can be lit too. Mention it and we'll price both sides.
Is it too late in the fall to book Brighton Christmas lights?
No. Installs run until a week before Christmas. Earlier bookings get more dates to pick from and better odds of a dry roof. If you want the house lit by Holiday Glow on November 21, 2026, call as soon as you can.
Who stores my Christmas lights after a Brighton install?
We do. Takedown comes in January or February, on a day that suits you, and the lights go into our storage until next season. There's nothing to coil up or find room for in the garage, and nobody in the house has to climb a ladder in January.
