Window Cleaning in Northville and Metro Detroit

Window cleaning is a pain in the glass.

Let us do it for you. Inside and out, and the outside rinse runs through a deionizer, so the glass dries clear.

Gutters, pressure washing and Christmas lights too.

Screens, sills and tracks included. Outside glass runs March to November.

Owner-operated in Northville since 2014.

The Guru part

Why a wizard

The wand is a real piece of equipment. The hat is the part we made up.

The honest version of this trade is a bucket, a ladder and a lot of patience, and none of that fits on a logo. The wand does. Exteriors get pure water pushed through a deionizer, so the glass dries clear with nothing left in it to spot. Mirrors can be added to any interior clean.

Glass Guru started in Northville in 2014 and still works out of it. A true divided-light sash downtown and the arched glass over a two-story foyer in a 1998 subdivision are two different jobs, and they get quoted as two different jobs.

The other half of the work is saying what glass can and cannot do. Hard water that has already etched a pane does not come back. We would rather tell you that before we start than scrub at it and bill you for a result the glass cannot give.

The Michigan calendar

Book window cleaning by the season

Outside work in Southeast Michigan has a short season. Outside window cleaning runs from March, and gutters and washing from April. The hard freezes start in November, and that ends the season for anything that uses water. Book early and you get the week you wanted.

  • March to November

    Outside window cleaning

Outside glass, frames and screens. March is for the road salt winter left on the lower panes, and late spring and early fall are the two visits to book. See how window cleaning works.

  • April to November

    Gutters and washing

Gutters, siding, decks and concrete. Spring is for washing off what winter left behind. Late fall is for the gutters, after the last leaves come down. See gutter cleaning in Northville.

  • October to January

    Christmas lights

Rooflines get booked well before the first snow, so October is the right time to call. See how the Christmas lights work.

    Interiors and chandeliers

Interior glass, sills, tracks and chandeliers do not care what the thermometer says, so they make a good winter job.

The Glass Guru team did an amazing job washing our windows and cleaning our gutters. They were punctual, respectful and took their time to make sure our windows were sparkling. They double checked their work to make sure each window was streak free. Couldn't be happier with their service!

  • More than one job

When several jobs run on one visit the order matters. House first, then gutters, then windows, so nothing gets re-dirtied by the step after it. And if a rented pressure washer is on your list for the siding, it is worth knowing that force drives water behind vinyl and leaves the algae roots in place. That is a chemistry job at low pressure. Call us and we will come look at it.

  • On the day

On the day itself, outside work needs a way into the yard and a working outdoor spigot, and it does not need you there. Gates unlocked, dogs in, and cars off the drive if the drive is being cleaned. If your sprinklers run on a timer, turn them off for the morning, because the one thing that undoes clean exterior glass fastest is a sprinkler head that clips a first-floor window. Inside work is the opposite: somebody has to let us in, and it moves quicker if breakables and plants are off the sills. We work around blinds and curtains, and we do not take window treatments down or move furniture.

  • If it rains

Exterior work is weather work. If it rains on the day, we move the whole booking. Half a house wash is worse than none, and glass cleaned in the rain dries spotted. It's also why booking early matters in a season this short.

LAST STOP

So, what are we cleaning?

A window cleaning quote starts from the windows: how many there are, which ones have storms or divided panes, and how high they sit. Everything else gets its own number: gutters, pressure washing, chandeliers, and yes, the Christmas lights on your roofline. No obligation.
