Let's get them up this year

Installs stop a week before Christmas, and the dry-weather dates go first: a roof is safe to work on with dry shingles in late October, and it isn't with icy shingles in mid-December.

How your quote is worked out

Christmas light installation starts at $900 for most packages.

  • The linear footage of roofline you want lit
  • How many stories up it goes
  • The pitch and complexity of the roof
  • How many trees and shrubs are included
  • Whether walkway lights are part of it

Local to Milford

What Milford does to your roofline

  • Liberty Street and the historic district

Liberty Street runs as a boulevard for three blocks, between First and Union, with a tree-lined median and historic homes along it. On a historic house, we plan each run of lights with you on the design walk-through, before anything goes up.

  • Acre lots outside the village

In Milford Township, 1,445 house lots are one to 2.4 acres and 990 more are 2.5 to 4.9, per Oakland County. On a lot that size a lit roofline can look small from the road, so wrapped trees and a lit walkway carry the display toward the street.

  • Small lots in the village

Inside the village, 1,148 of 1,961 single-family parcels are 8,000 to 13,999 square feet, and 344 are smaller still. On lots that size the side yard can be tight for a ladder, so we check it on the design walk-through.

Why it happens in Milford

Old houses in the village, big lots in the township

Housing in the Village of Milford is old: 17 percent of village homes went up before 1940 and 37 percent before 1960, per the Census Bureau's 2020–2024 survey. Its North Milford Village Historic District, a National Register listing since 2000, names Greek Revival and Italianate as its styles.

Past the village limits, lots run large. Oakland County puts 2,713 of the 3,414 single-family parcels there on an acre or more. With that much ground, the trees and the path to the door are part of the display too.

How we hang Christmas lights in Milford

  • Every light provided, with a design walk-through before the install.
  • Older village houses, planned run by run on the walk-through.
  • Trees, shrubs and walkways across the township's acre-plus lots.
  • Maintenance is included all season, when weather or animals pull a strand down.
  • Takedown in January or February, and your lights kept in our storage.

The detail

Christmas lights in Milford, explained

Holiday dates on Main Street

At the Big Reveal on Thursday, November 19, 2026, Main Street businesses gift-wrap their window displays, and at 6:30 p.m. kids tear the paper off. The Huron Valley Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Christmas Parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 28. On Saturday, December 5, Santa rolls in on a Milford Fire Department engine for the Christmas Open House. Book soon to be lit before the first of them.

From the design walk-through to storage

You send us a photo of the house, and we go over the design together. The lights are ours, and we hang them along the peaks and gutters and on whichever trees, shrubs and walkways you choose. Maintenance is included, so a strand that weather or an animal pulls down gets put back up. Takedown happens in January or February, and the lights stay with us until next season.

Village streets and township lots

Milford is a village with a township around it, and one downtown serves both, with Central Park and the Huron River at its heart. Part of Kensington Metropark, around Kent Lake, is in the township's southwest. Each house is quoted on the rooflines and yard you want lit.

Questions

Christmas lights questions from Milford homeowners

Is Milford Township part of your Christmas light installation area?

Yes. The village is inside the township, and we hang lights in both, at 48380 and 48381 addresses alike. Our base in Northville is about half an hour away.

Where does pricing start for Christmas lights in Milford?

Packages start at $900. Each house goes up from there with the length of roofline you want lit, its height, how many peaks and corners it has, and the trees and walkways you add. A village house on a small lot and a house on two acres in the township price differently.

Do historic Milford houses work for Christmas light installation?

Yes. We plan each run on the walk-through, and nothing we hang is permanent.

Can my Milford house be lit before parade day?

Yes, with an early booking. The Christmas Parade starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2026, and we keep installing up to a week before Christmas. Calling early leaves more dates open, and the dry ones go first.

What happens to the lights after the holidays in Milford?

Takedown is January or February, on the day you pick, and we hold on to the lights until next season. Nothing goes back in your garage, and no one at home climbs in the cold.
